He might have allergies. Humans get allergies in the respiratory system, but cats react with skin and stomach problems. Try some food with limited ingredients and a different protein source.
Without knowing what the diet of the cat is it can be very hard to understand why. He could be doing it from overeating, or eating something that he is unable to digest. Take him to a vet.
