The stiffness you are feeling in your legs is most likely not muscular. As you age, your joints tend to wear down and after use throughout the day, they tend to stiffen during the night. The stiffness is most likely coming from your knees, hips, and ankles.

Poor circulation can cause stiffness in the legs in many circumstances but especially in the morning. This occurs more often as a person ages. Some simple things that can be done are drink plenty of water throughout the day and especially at night. Do whatever possible to increase circulation.

There are a number reasons why someone might have stiff legs in the morning. It could be neurological or inflammatory. It could also be a side effect of your environment (Too cold or low pressure). It could also be because of physical exercise. I would suggest you speak with your doctor.

It is just because you are getting older and your circulation is not as good as it once was. Don't worry about it, but exercise & good nutrition might help.
