Are you kidding me? The MOST common causes are squash vine borers and squash bugs. The first bore into the stem and kill the plant; the second pierce the plant and suck out the moisture and nutrients. Start there!

There are several reasons why a squash could suddenly wilt. The most obvious is lack of water or nutrients. If neither of these is a problem, it could be too much heat. Too much sunlight or heat can actually kill a plant. Another possibility is one of many diseases which affect squash.

your squash plant could of wilted because it had way to much sun light. try giving it less sun light it will grow better. another reason could be because it didn't have enough water you should check your soil to see how wet the soil is. plants wilt very easy when they don't have water
