Why are the leaves on my Weeping Cherry tree drying and curling?

One possible reason for the sap on your tree is bacterial canker, an airborne type of fungus. If this sap is appearing from damaged branches, the infected parts need to be removed and sealed with a product designed specifically for this purpose. The brown curling leaves may be the result of overwatering, which can deplete nutrients from the tree roots.

It sounds like some form of a pest has gotten to the tree and is eating it on you the only way to get trif od it is to find out what the pest is and then you can either do a net search or talk to your local greenhouse to find out how to get rid of it.

If you have just transplanted the tree it may be going into shock. If not it may be receiving to much sun causing it to burn.

Scales and black aphids can cause this. Tent caterpillars have webbed homes in the trees and eat the leaves. Flowering cherries can be attacked by borers and spider mites may not be seen until advanced stages. Fertilize regularly and irrigate in warm weather.

The amber-colored sap on some of the branches of weeping cherry tree is the sap symptom of the diseases that affect the veins of the leaves. This diseases known as the venal diseases or rotton diseases of the cherry. Use fungicide that easily avilable in agri medical shop or fertilizer shop.

I had a cherry tree where the leaves went brown on half the tree, the next year the other half went brown now its dead and another tree is going like it, and seen others with it, but no one knows why.
