Curling leaves on a forsythia may mean that it is starting to die.You could have a problem with nematodes. It also could be a cultural problem with the soil. Something may have been dumped there or the roots may have been disturbed.

The leaves have a habit of curling for many reasons; one common reason is overheat from being under direct light for too long. If you have your forsythia in direct light is sure to water it regularly. These plants need a lot of water on a regular basis or they tend to dry out.
