Garner Ted Armstrong is the late son of Herbert Armstrong, the founder of the Worldwide Church of God. After his father passsed away, Garner Ted became locked in a power struggle over the future of the organization. Doctrinal changes proposed by Armstrong led to his eventual ouster and his founding of a another religious organization.

He was the son for Herbert Armstrong. Herbert started a cult of religiouse followers from a protestant religion. Garner Ted Armstrong, was the television face of Armstrongism. He fell out of favor with his father and was eventually disowned and thrown out of the organization
