In Greek mythology, Pegasus was ridden by two heroes; Bellerophon, who killed the Chimera while riding the flying horse, and in some myths, Perseus who was the son of Zeus.
Bellerophon tamed Pegasus with a golden bridle from the goddess Athena. Bellerophon tried to ride hom to the heavens to the gods but Pegasus threw him off.
According to myth a mortal man named Bellerophon rode Pegasus into battle. Afterward the winged horse rose toward the heavens and dumped Bellerophon of his back.
