The Vikings originally from Iceland found Greenland and then came down to Canada and perhaps as far as Maine. For most Europeans, that discovery goes to Christopher Columbus if you do not count Native Americans.
The region that is now the United States has been visited by many cultures. Viking explorers lived in Canada and the US for a time. There is also evidence that Ancient Greek explorers made it to America!
