Kitchen Aid makes the best quality mixers. Their models can be expensive but their mid-to lower range models are exellent in functionality and reliability
The best mixers by far are the kithen-aide tabletop mixers. They are very heavy duty and compare to commercial mixers. We have owned one for at least 15 years. Hand mixers are not recommended for dry or thick batters so stay with the kithen aide
