The shortest currently working high fashion runway model is Devon Aoki, who is five feet four inches tall. This is highly unusual if not unheard of today where the average hight is five feet ten, but in point of fact the very first high fashion runway model, Twiggy, is also five feet four inches tall.

Arguably the most famous short (aka "petite") fashion model is Kate Moss, the English supermodel who introduced her "waif" look to the world in the late eighties. At five-feet, seven inches Moss was the antithesis of the the "Amazonian" look of the then current crop of supermodels.
