Probably the most famous inventor was Benjamin Franklin. We all have heard the story about Ben's famous kite flight during a thunderstorm! Contrary to popular belief, he didn't invent electricity, but through that experiment, he did help us understand it better. Furthermore, he invented the lighting rod, bifocal glasses and an iron furnace called the Franklin Stove.

Thomas Edison is probably the most popular inventor, for the improvements made to the light bulb and for inventing the phonograph. He held over 1,000 patents for his work!

Ben Franklin is the most famous inventor because he invented electricity and we use it everyday. He is also famous because invented a whole bunch of things like the light bulb and the lightning rod.

There is not one most famous inventor, but some to choose from are: Thomas Edison (lightbulb), Alexander Graham Bell (telephone) and Benjamin Franklin (discovered electricity).
