Sade Adu is, in fact, the singer Sade. Originally, there was a group named Sade that was lead by Sade until she became a solo act under the name Sade. Her real name is Helen Folasade Adu.

"Sade Adu's" full name is Helen Folasade Adu. She performs under the name Sade -- so she is not "named after" Sade.. "Sade" is also the name of her band. Sade Adu is of mixed Nigerian and English descent; her father Yoruba and her mother is English. She lived in Nigeria until age four, and then moved to England.
