Which would you rather have: a very inexpensive gift or no gift at all?

To me, whether I get a gift or not doesn't matter. I will always appreciate that someone thought of me and got me something, but if they didn't that doesn't mean that they don't love me or anything. Either way I would be happy. Though, inexpensive gift would show that there was still thought.

If it's for some sort of special occasion, I would rather have an inexpensive gift because it shows that someone cares enough about me to put thought into a gift.
