Some people bring a gift for the new baby to a bris. You could bring something very special that you made such as a pretty crocheted outfit or a quilted baby quilt. If you can't crochet or quilt you can purchase one at a craft sale or a craft store.

Since the bris is a purely religious ceremony, Jewish tradition does not require the giving of a gift. However, modern conservative and reform groups have been giving gifts. If you choose to bring a gift, anything you would generally buy for a newborn baby boy would be acceptable and appropriate.
