You can go to any Claire's, Icings, or mall kiosk and get your ears pierce for free with purchase of jewelry. But any real body piercer will tell you that the piercing "gun" they use will greatly increase your chance of getting keloids (hardened scar tissue that often looks like a small tumor). Pay the money. Get it done right.
