When my car idles it acts like it will stall and then starts to sputter, what could be wrong?

This can be caused by several factors. A dirty or blocked fuel filter can cause sputtering. A mis-calibrated carburetor can also cause sputtering problems.

When you car idles and it acts like it will stall and then starts to sputter, you should change your spark plugs and rotor cap. The maintenance of the spark plugs is usually every 30K.
