Both are acceptable spellings. GRAY is the preferred American spelling, while GREY is more common in Canada and the UK.

"Gray" and "grey" mean the same thing, the color. "Gray" spelling is used in America and "grey" is used in England. The exceptions are for proper names, the name "greyhound", a breed of dog, and the unit of irradiation "gray".
