When I turn off the computer at night it loses the date, how can I prevent this from happening?

The motherboard bios battery is dead. It will look like a large watch battery, it is responsible for remembering system information such as the date.

This is a very unusual problem. The way to avoid it is to try and put your computer on hibernate and the screen should just go blank but you will still have power to the computer and when you shake the mouse or hit any key, it should return to the way it was.

It seems that your CMOS battery is weak or dying. I would replace it; when the CMOS battery is on it's way out, it will frequently lose memory settings for applications such as the BIOS, including date, time, settings, etc.

Well it sounds like the battery that powers the time circuit is dead. Look on your motherboard and find the battery. Replace it and see if that helps.
