The longest river is the Murray. 2,375 km or 1,476 mi or long, it can be found in the south-eastern portion of the country creating the borders for New South Wales and Victoria. It doesn't have a particularly heavy flow, and empties into the Indian Ocean near Adelaide in South Australia.

Murry River empties into the Indian Ocean via Murray Mouth. The major tributary is Darling River which empties into Murray River at Wentworth, New South Wales.
