dating sites are very commonly used now a days. You can go to bar, join a club... etc. any social activity is a good way to meet people.

Find a cause you are passionate about and sign up to volunteer. Church groups are good, too. Blind dates work well. Bars and clubs are the worst.

Going to social events or places, and just trying to talk to them. Worst case scenario you might just have a friend that is into the same things as you.
