You may have to do a bit of research. Look on the gun for the model or serial number. You then can take the model number and type it online. After some research you should be able to find out the year the gun was made. Savage probably has an online directory.

You can tell from the bottom of the rifle which means that you can see the year engraved from the bottom of the rifle as well as the serial numbers as well.
