Swimming laps is better for burning fat because it burns more calories than training on an elliptical since it works the entire body. The elliptical machine only works the legs and not your arms. Also, swimming helps promote better breathing since you are under water. Swimming is the total body workout.

Absolutely...a hundred percent, the swimming laps is better for burning fat than anything else. You burn fat, you get yourself in shape and you stay fit.And its healthy.

The best way to burn fat is to mix up your cardio, so for maximum results you should swim laps and train on the elliptical. Your body starts to adapt to a routine, so suprise it with different activities. Add in some weight training and jogging and you will lose weight in no time.

It is better to swim laps if you prefer to get a high impact workout without sweating as heavily. It is still a good idea to go on the elliptical if you can't swim.
