Generally speaking any spell done for revenge or personal gain comes back to you 3 times over, each time worse then before. A binding spell is neutral, and very useful.

The best spell for revenge is to leave him alone. If you use a spell for reasons that are negative in nature all you are going to do is harm yourself in the end. So your choice would be to leave him or to try and find a way to get over it and move on.
