If the pain is associated with swelling it could be a swollen lymph node indicating an infection. Without swelling it could be a sub-dermal pimple or other skin issue.
It might be a condition called Lymphadenitis when the lymph nodes under your arm becomes infected and painful. It may also indicate diabetes. Consult your doctor immediately.
