What would cause my car to suddenly get poor gas mileage?

There are several factors that go into mileage. Check your tire pressure. Make sure you have a clean air filter. Are you running the air conditioner now? Don't idle your car to warm it up in the cold months (or coll it in the warm months).

It depends on how old the car is, it just might be getting older, you might have to take it in to get it looked at.

Well it could be a lot of things. The first thing to do is check that there are no trouble codes and all the maintenance is up to date. Chances are you have worn plugs or a clogged filter somewhere. Then do a tune up if needed.
