The thirteen original colonies were: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island. They were referred to as British America by Great Britain, up until the Treaty of Paris recognized the thirteen colonies as being independent on their own.
