Go to your local auto parts store and ask for a Transmission Filter Kit, Grey Silicone (Sealant), and regular DEX/MERC transmission fluid. 6 quarts. It should cost around $30 dollars.

Check your owners manual for the proper type. Another alternative is to pop the hood and read what the transmission fluid needed is.

You are going to need to get Dex III ATF Trannsmission Fluid for your Pontiac Bonneville. It is the best you can use in a vehicle.

Pontiac Bonneville models from 1987 through 1999 use automatic transmission fluid labeled Dexron III or IIE. You may want to consider having this professionally done. You will also need things like a new fluid filter seal, a new fluid filter, a new fluid pan gasket. You should also check your fluid pan retaining bolts to see if they need replaced.

The year of your Bonneville determines the fluid. For 1987 through 1999. Use automatic transmission fluid. Dexron III or IIE. For newer models 2000 thru 2005 use a type A.
