When you're looking for a dog then you should look at why you want to have a dog. Do you want a companian or a guard dog and when you decide what you need the choice becomes easier.

To determind what type of dog would best suit you, you need to decide if you'd be better able to care for a large dog or a small one. Then, think about whether you like long or short hair and your activity level. Big dogs can do more than small ones, but small ones are easier to travel with.

This all depends on the person. For myself, I spend time reading, so I like a small lap dog that is quiet, like a toy poodle.
