It takes place as the first race of the year, and is always ran around the middle of February. It is run on a Sunday at 1PM every year, and testing occurs the entire week before the race.

The Daytona 500 takes place the second Sunday in February each year, in Daytona, Florida (doesn't correspond with anything else with Nascar).
