What things should I be sure to include in a luau party?

Have a hula contest complete with hula skirts and coconut bras. (Include the guys if they're willing.) Make sure everyone gets "lei'd" when they come in. Have Don Ho playing on the stereo. Serve pulled pork and tropical fruit. Have lots of tiki stuff around for decoration.

Lei's, umbrella drinks with pineapple, a few Hula skirts, cd with ocean sound and wind, hanging lantern lights, flowers, tiki torches, and don't forget the food.

You should include Hawaiian food, such as a cooked pig in a luau party. You should have leis for everyone coming to the party. You should ask everyone to wear hawaiian themed clothes. Find some CD's with Hawaiian themed music. Check out your local party store, for lights, paper items, etc.

If you have a luau patty, try to get it in a outdoor setting and since you live in Ohio, you can have a truckload of sand brought in.
