It depends on the level of pain. I have heard of people taking prilosec or antacids like tums. Heating pads help too. You can also try flushing the stones out if they are small. If the pain is severe, go to the ER. The gallbladder may need to be removed.

There's not a lot to be done to alleviate the pain - avoid food, drink water, gently pace instead of lying down, and take pain relievers. If you do eat, avoid spicy and fatty foods. Above all else, go to a physician! I had my gallbladder removed 12 years ago after 8 years of suffering - best thing I ever did!

the most effective wy of reducing the gallbladder attack is to stop eating animal foods. this is because cholestrol is the major cause for this attack. Milk products should also be avoided since they contain cholestrol. The best method is to consume only vegetable foods.

Gallbladder attacks happen most frequently after having a meal high in fat. If you change your diet you shouldn't have the attacks that you do. The other thing is go to the emergency room because they will likely remove it.
