I have three of these. What you should know first is that they are very aggressive fish. Their tank mates must be medium size or they WILL eat them. Next, make sure you have odd number of them. If even numbered they will fight for control. Hope this helps.

When purchasing an African blood parrot chiclid one should ensure they have a tank no less than 50 gallons in size as they can grow to up to ten inches.
