With certain parts it is acceptable to throw them away, but others require recycling. Your best bet is to bring them to a metal recycling facility, you will receive reimbursement.
I would recycle them. I would look around and see if any schools need them for teaching about car parts. I might even see if an auto dealer would take them. I wouldn't just throw something like that away when someone else might be able to use them. I hope this helps.
