broken blood vessels when minor, will heal on their own. If it is a major broken blood vessel you should seek medical help. If it is a major vessel that has broken you can bleed internally or get clotting your blood system which can cause to more severe medical problems

If blood vessel is small capillary just press it with sterile gauge and bleedind will stop. But you have to press it for bit longer period compare to broken capillary in other part of the body, because due to respiratory movement it requires loger time to clot. If it is a major vessel then it may require ligation.

If my doctor says not to worry about it then I would continue my normal routine. Otherwise, following the doctor's opinion would be wise. I would also try to research the cause of the broken vessel by either internet searching or by asking the doctor for more information on it's causes and cures.

Apply pressure to any bleeding anywhere on the body. If the bleeding is bright red and does not stop after about 10 minutes of pressure, seek immediate medical attention at your local Emergency Room. If the blood is dark red and stops bleeding after some pressure is applied, keep it clean an dry and follow up with your personal physician.

Nothing. Upon straining, we get a lot of broken blood vessels on our bodies. They are harmless. If they bother you, you could go see a dermatologist.

Do nothing right now unless you start having a lot of pain and tenderness on or around your chest where the broken blood vessel is.
