Impulse control disorders can be treated with medication and behavior modification. This involves a psychiatrist who can diagnose the problem, prescribe appropriate medication and work with the patient to get to the root of the problem, then find alternative, acceptable behaviors.

First off impulse control disorder is a psychiatric condition and must be diagnosed. Second,impulsive behavior have underlying problems that can be related to existing or past medical conditions.
