Morocco, like the rest of Middle East, is a very conservative and patriarical society, and as such, women should fully cover their body with clothing. Skin should not be exposed, except for the eyes and hands. There are special head gear, or veil, to cover a woman's face.

Morocco's culture and tradition is very different from the west as there are more conservative especially the women. A female traveller should therefore wear decently and avoid tight shirts, shorts and even mini skirts. Sunglasses are also recommended to shield your eyes from the sun and avoiding direct contact with men as well.

Since Morocco is an Islamic culture, a woman's neck, legs and shoulders are considered private in Morocco and should be kept covered. It is best to wear light, loose, cotton clothing in the hot summer weather and warmer layers during the winter months. Some type of head covering is also recommended, whether it be a turban or a hat.

Dressing modestly is the one thing to bear in mind when traveling in Islamic countries. When out in public do not wear mini skirts, sleeveless or revealing low-cut tops. Some may even frown on pants but they would be better than short shorts.

While traveling in Morocco as a woman you don't want expose too much skin, a short sleeve shirt paired with a long skirt or pants is fine though.
