There should be a sufficient amount of space for each pot bellied pig. Metal or wooden fences work well, because they are strong enough to keep the pot bellied pig from escaping. It is suggested to use a mesh of wire to prevent chewing. There also needs to be wallow for the pig to roll around in.

Pot Bellied pigs do well as an outdoor animal. You would set up an enclosure much like you would for a dog. Keep in mind that pigs are deathly afraid of dogs. So privacy is a must! A large outdoor pen equipped with a sturdy shelter, such as a dog house, bedded with wood shavings.

You will need to consider the pig's comfort and safety. If the pig stays outside full-time in the summer. He will need shade and straw for a bed. Remember pigs love to root. In winter, he will need a safe heat source to be outside.

My pot-belly likes her pen to have a lot of blankets, (hay if it will be outside). They like to root and burrow under them, so put as much as possible. The fencing should be strong, and not easy to dig under, because if there is something outside of the enclosure, they will root until they can get out.

The main thing to consider is not how big your pot bellied pig is now, but how big your pig is going to get. Sure, he may be small now, but will that enclosure you're thinking about building stand up when you have 300 pounds of mobile pork?

One condsideration is location, location, location. Consider where you will set up the enclosure. Pigs are heat and cold sensative. Will you have a place for the pig to get out of the everyday elements? Pigs can also dig so will you have good fencing?

The most important thing is the size of the pig. The larger the pig the larger the enclosure. Keep in mind of the height.
