What is unique about snowshoe poles?

Answer by  SteveO82 (109)

Snowshoe poles generally have a much wider basket near the tip, preventing the pole to sink too deeply into the snow. Most manufacturers sell these baskets separately. Snowshoe poles are different from regular ski poles. The snowshoe poles are wider. They can get deeper in the snow and are adjustable. Since snow shoes are wider and more stable than skis it is best not to use ski poles. You can walk around on the snow without getting bogged.
