The value of the house would be in line with the property values of similar homes in the area. Added value would be only that of sentiment for the buyer.

Check with a local real estate professional regarding the value. The value is directly linked to the interest in the home's historical significance, age, condition, updates, location and comps in the area. While a "Sears" house is of interest, it's value in terms of real estate is dependent upon the area and what buyers are willing to pay.

Many years ago, when Sears first brought out their catalog, you could by a house from Sears in a kit form. These homes which still exist can only be valued as Realtor or buyer would value any home. That it is a Sears house might add value if in use as a museum. Location and condition will mean more.

The value of the house is predicated on the neighborhood, amenities, updates and comparable properties that recently sold. The Sears houses, built between 1908 and 1940, are pre-fab and tended to be quite small, especially by today's standards. Sears homes were often built in clusters, so there are likely similar models nearby, which would help evaluating your grandmother's property.

A Sears house has real historic value and historic significance and sears has discovered the value of it's legacy.

Sears home can be worth many times their original cost, this also depends on where their location is. That is with any home. Location is what determines a homes cost and if a Sears home is built in a desirable area it would be worth a lot more than its original cost.

Probably less than what the value would be on a comparable non-Sears house. They were pre-fab homes and not veery substantial.
