A 1985 VW Jetta may only be worth selling for $200-$300. The car will probably not pass emissions. The best option is to donate it for a tax write off

Just use one of the many online price guides to get an idea of what it is worth. I imagine that are a lot of people interested in buying it for the right price. If nothing else it could be used for parts but don't expect a bunch of money.
