The subconscious mind consists of thoughts a person is not conscious of. Those thoughts are often revealed in dreams. According to Freud, the subconscious mind is the ''place'' where we store socialy inappropriate ideas, wishes and desires as well as the traumatic memories and painful emotions. It is more appropriate to use term 'unconscious' rather than 'subconscious'.

The subconscious mind is the mind where all your repressive feelings go. Let's say you wanna hit somebody but you content yourself that feeling goes there and even though you might have forgotten your subconscious mind has not. It does still push up to your conscious mind and generates the feeling you might feel. Those feeling do not fade away.

Subconscious are the emotions, natural tendencies, and intangibles such as personality and demeanor that your mind is not actively aware of.

From my understanding, it can be metaphorically compared to service or daemon threads in computing, operating with effect, but hidden from the end user.
