Psa is tested in urine to find out whether the person has disease of prostate glands. The normal value of Psa in blood is 4. More than value 4 is abnormal in which the patient must be evaluated further. Abnormal Psa can also lead to prostate cancer. So men of age more than 45 must check there psa levels yearly.

PSA is short for prostate specific antigen. PSA levels are somewhat correlated to prostate cancer. The PSA test is a non-invasive check for possible prostate cancer.

Urine can be tested for blood, and blood can be tested for PSA (prostate-specific antigen). They are two separate tests. The PSA test is for prostate cancer.

When screening for prostate cancer in men, physicians use a PSA test or prostate-specific antigen test. The PSA test alone does not conclusively indicate cancer if the level is higher than normal. The increased PSA level could simply indicate an infection. However, it does let a physician know if further testing needs to be performed.

"PSA" is an acronym for "Prostate Specific Antigen." These tests check for prostate cancer, which blood in the urine can be a symptom of.

Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is produced by the prostate and shows up in the urine. Higher levels of PSA increase the likelihood of the presence of prostate cancer. Blood in the urine is also a sign of a prostate problem. The PSA test is done on urine, not blood.

A PSA test is measuring prostate specific antigens. The presence of these can be a signal of cancer of the protate, as can blood in the urine. It is a routine test for this problem. If there is an unusual level, more testing may be needed, possibly an ultrasound.
