This will vary per place to place. But typically if you were not going too fast and not in a school or construction zone it will be a warning. However this is totally up to the officer and he may decide to give you a speeding ticket, it is usually a set rate per mile over the speed limit.

In most states, the fine will be between 100 and 200 dollars. If you were in a school zone or construction zone, it will be double that.
