Scrap aluminum prices vary from day to day and is also dependent upon your location. The last time that I recycled aluminum, I received 38 cents per pound in Alabama; however, I have also received 6 cents per pound in Arizona. A conservative average would be 15 cents per pound.

You did not say whether you mean California redemption value for beverage containers sold and redeemed in California, but the California redemption value is five cents for containers under 24 ounces and ten cents for containers over 24 ounces. The rate per pound is $1.57 in the San Jose area. You cannot take containers bought in other states and redeem them in California.

Scrap aluminum has a lot of grades. Depending on what it is, if it is clean, etc. Expect to get between 30 to 50 cents depending on what you have.

The price for scrap aluminum changes daily and varies greatly depending on your location. You can visit online websites that show the current spot price and expect to usually get around 20-25% less than that amount from local scrappers.

On the world market, the price for scrap aluminum is in February 2010 slightly less than 90 dollar cent per Lb. However, when you bring some scrap to a scrap yard or metal salesman the price will be much lower. I think about 50 cent a pound would be a very good price.
