The population of the US as of 2008 was 304,059,724. As of 2005, the population of South America was + 371,090,000. In 2006, the population of Canada was 316,128,97. In July of 2008, the population of North America was 528,720,588. You need to be careful how you ask- the United States is NOT the only America.

According to wikipedia, the population is 308,778 000 as of 2009. New York is one of the cities with the largest share of the poulation followed by Los Angeles. New Jersey is the most densely populated city. As of 2008, there are 52 metropolitan areas in America.
