As Jimmy Page offered Keith Moon a drummer position in the band, Moon predicted that the group would go down like a lead balloon. To that keyboardist John Entwhistle snidely said lead zeppelin. Manager Peter Grant changed the spelling from lead to "led" to avoid mispronunciation of the new name.
