The song is about a young musician, presumably attending music school in New York, it's to his love- Delilah. Delilah obviously is left behind while he attends school for yet another 2 years with dreams of making it in music. It seems that money and distance keeps them from being together. A love song, filled with missing and longing for Delilah.
