The main difference between sodium chloride and sea salt is that sodium chloride has been mined and treated chemically and all minerals have been removed. Additionally, sea salt is the salt that has been evaporated from the oceans or seas. There is actually more nutritional value in sea salt.

Pure sodium chloride is table salt. Sea salt is the salt obtained after seawater evaporates. Sea salt contains many other ions such as sulfate, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bicarbonate and more.

NaCl is mined from underground deposits & processed to remove trace minerals. An additive is included to prevent clumping. Sea salt is derived from evaporating sea water & less processed.

All salt has sodium chloride. Sea salt is simply unrefined salt, which adds a different taste. Table salt is usually made up of pure sodium chloride, while sea salt isn't.
