Sherbets are a creamier consistency because they contain milk or another fat so it's considered more similar to ice cream. A sorbet is somewhat grainer because it doesn't contain any fat. A sorbet is considered an "ice" and is frequently referred to as a "granita". A sorbet can be made with basically any fruit.

There is a huge difference between sherbet and sorbet! Sherbet is a milk-based dairy product, typically with artificial fruit flavoring and coloring. Sorbet is usually dairy-free and comprised of fruit and ice.

They both have similar bases (sugar, water, fruit/fruit juice), but sherbet can also contain milk products, gelatin, or egg whites.

Sherbet is more like fruity ice cream, and has milk in it. Sorbet is made strictly from fruit (or other) juices, and sometimes sugar and other flavorings, with no milk products.

Sorbet includes fruit juices that are mixed with ice to create this frosty treat. Sherbet contains dairy and eggs. This is why those with allergies are able to eat sorbet.

Although both are ice cream treats there is more dairy in Sherbet while the Sorbet starts with fruit. Sherbet can have fruit in it but due to the dairy, will have a more creamy texture. It may even have egg whites as part of its ingredient. If you're lactose intolerant then sorbet is the the one to eat.

Both contain pureed fruit, ice, and sugar. However, sherbet also contains one or more of the following: eggs, gelatin, and dairy products.

Both are fruity frozen desserts. Sherbet is normally citrus flavored and is made with dairy products. This makes it creamy. Sorbet is a little more icy because it is made completely from fruit juice or syrup. It's a little more tart than sherbet and come in a variety of fruit flavors.

Sorbet is flavored ice crystals and sherbet is a form of a cream. The best way to know what you are doing is before you go out with other people go buy a container of each and read it, it will tell you the difference.

A sorbet tends to be a relatively simple mixture of sugar, water, and fruit juice or fruit puree. A sherbet has dairy and or eggs in its ingredients. In the united States, there are laws requiring that sherbet have a 1-2% milk fat content, making sherbet more like ice cream in terms of texture and mouth feel.

Sherbet (pronounced sure-bet) and sorbet (pronounced soar-bay) are similar, but not identical, desserts. Both are frozen treats that are typically fruit-flavored. However, only sherbet contains any milk products. Sorbet is made with fruit juice/puree instead of milk. It has a texture closer to an icee.
