What is the difference between r and tm in a circle for trademark representation?

I am considering manufacturing a revolutionary new product, and I am trying to determine whether I need to file for a marca registrada or a trademark. What are differences, and what these could mean to my product in the future?

The federal registration symbol r enclosed within the circle used once the mark is actually registerd in USPTO. TM is used to distinguish ones goods from others,it differs ongoods
